Stateside Goddesses, this one’s for you!

Yes – I know how much anxiety this time of year brings on for anyone living with a destructive or challenging relationship with food.

The good news is I am here to HELP!

Here are our goals!

That you sail through Thanksgiving and the Holiday period with a BREEZE. Calm, at peace, happy and present with your family. NOT anxious around food, not fearful – no guilt or shame are welcome here.

That you love yourself throughout the entire holiday period – no exceptions.

That you stay grounded in gratitude and look back on this holiday period with fondness and remember what an amazing time you had with your loved ones.

Pick a mantra for your day: (Use one of mine or make up your own)

  • When I respect my body, my body respects me
  • I listen to my body throughout the day
  • I deeply and completely love and accept myself
  • I have nothing to fear, I am love
  • I am so blessed and thankful for this day with my loved ones!
  • This food is a blessing!
  • I breathe when I eat
  • This day is about my family and giving thanks. (The food is secondary)

OR make up your own mantra!

Carry this mantra around with you, repeat to yourself continuously in your head or out loud.

NO RESTRICTIONS – Remember, Abundance. All food is available for you and you should be able to experience PLEASURE without any guilt. Just remember to always listen to your body.

These prompt questions will help:

How will that food make me feel?

Am I hungry or eating for a different reason?

Am I full now?

How do I want to feel later?

BLESS YOUR FOOD.

Thanksgiving and the Holiday season is all about being grateful and being present with your family – so be present with your food too. Before you eat, take a moment to close your eyes and BLESS your food in your head. Remember how blessed we are to have an abundance of healthy nourishing food in our lifestyles and so readily available to us. This will help you stay present with your food and not wolf it down disrespectfully to your body.

SLOW DOWN TO EAT.

Remember to BREATHE throughout your meal, slow down, and remember to chew your food and actually taste it.

Ask yourself:

Am I thinking about the food inside my mouth, or the next mouthful coming in?

Be sure to slow down and think about the food that is already in your mouth. Taste it, relish it, enjoy it, love it.

Remember YOU CANNOT LOVE YOURSELF AND JUDGE YOURSELF AT THE SAME TIME.

Decide that this holiday period is a completely judgement free ZONE – choose to love yourself AT ALL TIMES. Through every choice, through every meal time, through every single second.

STAY GROUNDED IN GRATITUDE ALL DAY.

If it helps, make an ongoing list throughout the day of all the things you feel grateful for that day. Be sure to include your food and your health!

YOU ARE WORTH IT.

Eat with respect, and your body will reward you.

As always it’s all about listening and connecting. The benefits of listening to your body are limitless, darling.

You got this.

Happy Thanksgiving my darlings –

Mel
